An explosion of flavours awaits you in this class led by chef, cookery writer and African food devotee Lerato Umah-Shaylor. Lerato will welcome you with orange and mint prosecco cocktails and canapés before she shares tips and techniques for this very hands-on class.
*Final 4 spaces available.*
Our cookery session will start with cocktails and some nibbles to whet your appetite, as you get to know your fellow cooks, followed by an introduction to Moroccan cooking.
FORMAT
Our cookery class is very hands-on, as we chop, peel and cook together. After cooking, you will sit to enjoy a long table feast together.
INCLUDED
Canapés on arrival
Hibiscus Botanical Cocktails
The use of aprons, all cooking equipment, ingredients and recipes of the day.
Sit-down meal
You can also bring your favourite drinks. (BYOB)
Limited spaces are available for each class to ensure a bespoke lesson so it's a good idea to book early before they sell out.
MENU
You will learn how to toast and grind north African spices to create your own ras-el-hanout spice mix and, depending on seasonal availability, produce dishes such as the smoky aubergine dip Zaalouk, saffron couscous salad made with fresh herbs, lemons and pomegranate jewels, pumpkin tagine with chickpeas and red onions, and almond-stuffed dates for a sweet treat.
Bring your own bottle to enjoy with the feast at the end of this spicy journey through traditional and contemporary Moroccan cuisine. Leave with your own bottled spice mix – and oodles of inspiration to transform your meals at home into those fit for the casbah.

Went ok but there seemed to be some technical problems and it was hard to hear host at times. Recipe was ok but didn't match the ingredients our host actuslly used quantity wise.

Lorato was lovely. She made everyone feel comfortable. The recipe was very clearly explained. I don't use chilli much but was able to put just the right amount in, thanks to her explanations. My son popped in a few times to help. And we all lived the food. Really lovely.
