Insurance

WeFiFo has insurance in place with Royal & Sun Alliance to cover both hosts and guests at any event booked via WeFiFo.com. This offers protection to guests who suffer injury/damage at an event as a result of your negligence and to hosts who suffer damage to their property at an event.

Damage to a host’s own equipment is limited to £2,000 per cook and there is an excess payable of £500.

There are four things you must do to qualify for this insurance cover:

• You need to read and confirm that you have understood our food hygiene checklist (you will be presented with this when you host an event.)
• You need to let your own insurers know if this cover duplicates any cover they offer.
• The cover provided is of course based on the terms and conditions of the policy, copy available upon request.
• Do not admit liability

When hosting an event, in order to make sure you have done everything necessary to protect yourself and your guests we strongly urge you to do the following:

• Apply for your level 2 certificate in Food Safety in Catering. This is an e-learning course that provides accreditation issued by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. The fee for this course will be met by WeFiFo once you are a registered with us. Email us at hello@wefifo.com using "Make Me Safe" in the subject line and we will email you with a unique login and password.
• Make contact with your local Environmental Health Officer and request a visit. You can contact them through your local council. They will visit and award you with your Food Hygiene Rating from the Food Standards Agency. This can be displayed when hosting an event.
