Two of Mark’s most very favourite things in life apart from Liz, Olive and gin of course, curry and Springsteen. The legend that is Bruce Springsteen has a new album out this month and let's face it it’s going to be a while before we are allowed to go to concerts so come along to an Indian inspired feast whilst listening to Bruce’s new album and some classic tracks lovingly picked out by Mark. No dancing/signing allowed but you can sit, sway, sip, eat to the magic of the boss playing in the background.
Please do not book this event if your taste buds don’t like coriander, coriander is featured very heavily in all the dishes and would be impossible to pick out.
Puri with sides and dips – Puri is a deep fried puffed up, hollow ball made by millions of Indians at home and can be found on street food stalls. Usually eaten for breakfast or as a snack tonight we are serving it with a roasted cauliflower and chickpea salad, a pea kachori type filling, raita and two “waters” one coriander and ginger based and one tamarind and date with a side of Aloo Ki Tikki another popular street food snack, I make mine with potato, spinach, peas and yep you guessed it coriander!
Tandoori chicken served with chapati and a cucumber, tomato and red onion Kachumba salad.
Salmon marinated in lemon, ginger honey and coriander served, cooked on the BBQ with rice.
And Relax, there is pudding.
For pudding we always have Meringues and I am going to make a traditional Indian milk dessert called rasmalai made with milk and flavoured with cardamom and saffron and sprinkled with pistachio and almonds, it is usually made to celebrate Diwali and other major festivals or any other opportunity to celebrate.
Tables of 2 to 6 people. Please only book to sit with people you are allowed to sit with at the time of government guidance (currently it is only advice to sit with your own household or bubble up to 6 people). The bar will be open from 5.00pm we ask all guests be seated by 6.45pm dinner being served at 7.00pm as we have to close the doors and send you home at 10.00pm. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements contact us before you book as it may not be possible for us to cater for you, the cooking facilities are limited therefore we are unable to swap/offer alternative dishes.
We will be operating a table service, so no going to the bar, with one member of the nest team looking after you with drinks orders, food and any other requests. Please follow the one way system and adhere to all the COVID precautions put in place including hand washing and distancing. The ticket price includes one gin drink that Mark and Tom will pair to go with the food.
Please wear layers and dress warmly as you may be sat near a large open wall and as the evening goes on you may get chilly. Please also be aware that this is an operational distillery and not a restaurant, you may be sat in a row rather than a traditional table setting or even behind a row of bronze sparkling stills.
Last orders will be just before 9.15pm, we kindly ask that your taxis are pre-booked with this in mind and your table host will ensure you are made aware when your taxi is here, although most taxi firms use a ‘text message on arrival’ service.
Your drinks bill will be totted up throughout the evening and we ask that you leave time to pay for this at the table before you leave. Just ask your table host for the bill (as you would in a restaurant) and we will bring the card reader to your table. Card is preferred but we will accept cash if required to.
