Join Jack Monroe, food writer, author of just published Tin Can Cook and affordable eating expert, for an evening to celebrate her NEW book. Food will be prepared in collaboration with the Real Junk Food Project in Brighton.
Guests will get to meet and eat dinner with Jack, enjoy three courses of superb food and get a signed copy of Jack's new book.
Jack Monroe made her name writing about feeding her family on low cost food that is nutritious, easy to prepare and delicious. Her NEW book Tin Can Cook shows how you too can conjure up meals with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of flavour using only store cupboard ingredients.
The Real Junk Food Project is equally imaginative in using surplus food that would otherwise go to waste to serve up tasty menus across its pay as you feel cafes in Brighton.
Meet Jack and the Real Junk Food chefs at this special talk and taste evening, enjoy a three course meal inspired by the book and pick up a complimentary signed copy to take away with you.

Hi, I just wanted to check which options will be vegan? Thanks Karl
Hi Karl! I can confirm one snack, one main and dessert are all vegan. Best, Chelsea

This was my first WeFiFo event and I wasn't really sure what to expect; nor have I been to a Literary Supper either! The location was lovely. The author a revelation and the other guests interesting to meet. Unfortunately it was too cold that evening to be outside - we would have been better off in the barn. I enjoyed my food and found my dietary requirements had been well catered for - however for the future I would use a different dairy substitute for the dessert topping - it really didn't work with the posset underneath. I'd recommend the chef looks into using KoKo coconut yoghurt another time (Tescos and other large supermarkets) and/or sheeps yoghurt (Waitrose) which is the closest I've ever found to cream.
