Come and join me in celebrating the British summer by enjoying a home-cooked 5 course meal that features some lovely seasonal and home grown foods. A taste of summer but not a single barbecue in sight!
Your menu:
British Summertime Celebration
1. The summer picnic welcome
Some delightful 'picnic' inspired canapes with Pimms or elderflower & rose presse
If the weather is fine we can always enjoy our picnic in the garden
2. The humble British veg
Chilled fresh pea and wasabi shots alongside
British Goats cheese, pea and raspberry vinegar bruschetta or
Broad bean, feta and lemon bruschetta or both!
3. For the love of a pork and pickle pie
The Pork Pie is a British institution so this is my 'sit down meal' take on it....
Fillet of pork, ham hock bon bon with a sweet and sour onion pastry served with a ginger, honey and mustard jus
Accompanied with fennel, apple and red onion slaw and new potatoes
Or
Caramalised onion galette instead of the meat with a wedge of Wensleydale with the same accompaniments as above.
4. Celebrate the fruits of summer
Homemade summer pudding served with fresh double cream or
Balsamic strawberry pavlova - lovely fresh strawberries marinated in a touch of balsamic vinegar, vanilla sugar and little grinding of fresh black pepper nestling on top of the chewy pavlova and the whipped fresh cream and mascarpone cheese
Or cheese board of a selection of British cheeses with celery
Served with one of our favourite pudding wines or one of your own favourite wines if you decide to bring one along!
5. Summer Flowers and sweet things
Homemade lavender shortbread hearts
Rose truffles
Fresh coffee or fruit/floral tea
Please specify if you will be requiring the vegetarian main course option when making your booking. Please do ask me any questions about the menu and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If you have any special dietary requirements then please do let me know, I will try my very best to accommodate you.
Drinks
There will be a welcome drink of either Classic Pimms or a Pimms Royale - which is prosecco with a dash of Pimms. The non-alcoholic welcome beverage will be elderflower and rose presse if it is available or a suitable similar alternative.
Sparkling water and still water will be provided through out all the courses.
If you would like to enjoy an alcohol drink with your main course then you are very welcome to bring your own favourite wine or beer.
Our favourite pudding wine will be provided for the final courses along with finishing with a cafetiere of fresh coffee or a pot of lovely fruit or floral tea. We will also have other teas available should you have other preferences.
I look forward to sitting down at the table with you. Best wishes,
Wendy

Such a fun and exciting evening, made all the more fantastic when our secret diner turned up! (Stay tuned for the video) The food was delicious - I have to get the recipe for the beef dish as a matter of urgency! The company was great, everyone was talking and laughing all evening. Well worth the trip up north and I feel so jealous of everyone who lives near you who can come to all of your future events! Highly recommended !
