Maynila returns to London this June! Come and join us for this special evening as they take you on a journey through Philippine history by the dishes on your plate. It is a celebration of traditional, well-loved recipes given a contemporary treatment that will both delight and tickle your palate.
Get lost in the flavours of this 4-course dinner cooked for you by Roni and Steve, maynila’s cooking duo. A wine bar will be available on the night for you to buy drinks to enjoy with your food.

Prawns and Black Rice
Skewered prawn cooked in a rich crab fat sauce with flavoured black rice

Mushroom Sisig
Chargrilled and fried mix of mushrooms in Filipino spices topped with egg

LAMANG DAGAT (FISH/SEAFOOD COURSE)

Lightly vinegar-lime cured scallop, onions, garlic, chillies, pickled cucumber, tomato pearls

Ballotine of pork, rich duck egg gravy, raisin puree, pomme purée, asparagus and parmesan crisps

9 vegetables topped with aubergine and peanut soil served with mushroom and bamboo shoot rice

MINATAMIS (DESSERT)
“Halu Halo”
This is maynila’s take on the famous colourful dessert known in English as “mix-mix”. Sweet bananas, sweet beans, leche flan, milk granita, black ice cream

What an amazing experience, we had never eaten Kamayan style before, the food was laden out in front of us on banana leaves all fresh, tasty, colourful and utterly delishicous. The welcome drink was a lovely touch and it was a real treat being able to eat outside. All the hosts made us feel very welcome, at home and spent time explaining all the dishes, their origin, method of cooking, ingredients and family stories about shared meals, all in all a truly wonderful night.
