WeFiFo at Waitrose with James Whetlor
The food was fine. Not exceptional. The evening could have benefited from some canapes to go with the fizz. The starter needed to have some bread with it but was only served once a few of us asked. Who was my host? Waitrose or the chef? The chef appeared for half a minute to tell us what the menu was. We had that written down in front of us so..... It would have been nice if he'd appeared after dessert which incidentally was the best part of the meal.

Hidden Restaurants Goat Feast in the woods!
The weather was awful and they did well to keep us all dry! Food was yummy, but it would have been nice to hear a little more about Cabrito and their work from the host.

The goat was absolutely incredible, and the salads complemented it wonderfully. It was a meat I had not tried before, but I will certainly be having it in the future.

The goat Shawarma was life changing! The goat was absolutely delicious, as were the vegetables and salads. But James himself was the real highlight - listening to him talk to a group of teenagers with passion, intelligence and reason about the ethical arguments for and against various food groups was an absolute joy. More please!

Unbelievably good. It was the first time I have tried goat and it was amazing. Such a fun day, sipping a beer and watching the goat cook on the spit in the first sunny day of Spring. I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. Thanks James

It was a beautiful location and the hosts were charming and very welcoming. They made everyone feel at home and it was great to hear from the chef, James Whetler, about the food before we ate. The Shawarma Goat was delicious and there was plenty of it, served with salads and followed by excellent home made ice cream. I thoroughly recommend attending one of these events!

The plates have been cleared, the oven switched off, the washing up has been put away… so how did it go?
