Lerato was a wonderful host - she was really chatty and helped us all cook at home during the lockdown. Both my husband and I enjoyed following along, chatting, cooking, substituting and tweaking bits and our Yassa was fantastic. We saw that some people complained a bit about doing it online, but we found it really straightforward - click the link and and we were in! People complaining about their own internet connection or Zoom, or their own cooking should be reviewing those things in a suitable place: their ISP, Zoom, or themselves. There were around 25 people in the class swapping bits of the recipe out and changing things according to we had in our cupboards that evening, and Lerato was approachable and easy to ask for advice on those substitutions, but at the end of the day it was our meal, and that's part of the joy of it - we revel in our ability to cook this dish, and we take some responsibility if we add so many chillies we can't eat it anymore.

Went ok but there seemed to be some technical problems and it was hard to hear host at times. Recipe was ok but didn't match the ingredients our host actuslly used quantity wise.

Lovley there were a few challenges with guests logging on which meant we were delayed by 20 mins not the lovely lists fault .good instructions v friendly lovley vibe . I personally didn’t like the flavour and consistency of the dish but it was a fun experience and I so appreciate she did the class for free xx

I think it was confusing and several people queried the recipe. For example the recipe that had been sent ahead of the event said 200 mls of stock but on the night 500 mls was talked about. There were other ingredients added extra that were not on the list. It was not easy to see what she was doing as the picture was small. It took too long to demonstrate I and a few others were signing off after 1.5 hrs this was only vegetables being cooked.

Lorato was lovely. She made everyone feel comfortable. The recipe was very clearly explained. I don't use chilli much but was able to put just the right amount in, thanks to her explanations. My son popped in a few times to help. And we all lived the food. Really lovely.

One of the best We Fi Fo events I have attended; fantastic food - delicious combinations with lots of vegetables and not too spicy, melt in the mouth lamb and a gorgeous sticky pudding. Wonderful host who made the evening flow plus a great group of people from all walks of life. A very happy and relaxed evening, helped by the generous servings of wine from Waitrose. Everyone around me was new to We Fi Fo but keen to experience more events.

Yoga in a Countryside Yurt

I enjoyed the social side of this workshop and the food and eating together was good. However, I think there were too many of us in the yurt and I did not enjoy the yoga because of this. I couldn't even lie comfortably in shivansana at the end because we were too close to each other on our mats. I would not choose to come to another yoga workshop at the yurt where so many people attend. I attended another of Eva's workshops a few months ago and the spacing was fine and I really enjoyed the workshop. So feel disappointed in the yoga part of yesterday's workshop - also for my student because this was her first experience of yoga. The vibe and the people were lovely, however.

Lerato's Wild African Summer Roast

My first time eating African food and Lerato's food is amazing. My husband first attended her supper club in London, and then he brought me along to her Sunday feast. I enjoyed everything especially the plantain shakshuka, the kale and banana fritters with chocolate sauce with a spicy kick to it. The atmosphere is really fun and she spends time explaining her food inspiration which inspired me to try some new flavours in my own cooking. We will be bringing friends and family to the next one!

Flavour of the dish was amazing but it was too small. Two lettuce leaves and four small pieces of chicken aren't enough for my lunch. The Brownie was a bit dry but I'm guessing it didn't have much oil in it so was healthier than other recipes.
